So reducing toxic load is a thing and its a thing that I have been doing for the past three years.. It was super overwhelming at first but my little adrenals and thyroid have been screaming at me and slowing me down.. So I figured I should listen so that I can function. Its a big job but I am the only one who can do it.. One step at a time..
You know what? I have found that its super easy, more cost effective and I can make most things at home that are non-toxic and healthy for me.. I have been loving it. Who would of thought that I would like to do all of these DIY's... I sure never saw myself doing all these fun little projects. DIY Dry Shampoo!!!! Ingredients: Light Hair: You will need a glass jar that has a shaker top and or lid.. I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby, and you can get from amazon, or share oils. 2~3 drops of Rosemary EO 2~3 drops of Lavender EO 2~3 drops of Melaleuca EO 1/4 cup of Arrow Root Powder Metal stir stick Powder Brush Dark Hair: 2 tablespoons of Arrow Root Powder 2 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder Directions: Add the arrow root powder to the jar and then add your essential oils and stir with metal stir stick... and or shake then and take your powder brush and brush into roots. It will absorb any oil and the essential oil will soothe and stimulate new hair growth.. Leaving your scalp feeling fresh and healthy. If you have dyed hair or heavily highlighted hair, like myself, going more time between washing can really help cutdown on breakage and promote healthy hair and scalp.. It takes some time to train your hair to not produce so much oil, but it's so worth it. I typically wash my hair every 3-4 days and working on extending that a little longer. For darker hair, add your arrow root powder and cocoa powder to a kitchen-aide mixer or a food processor and pulse until fully mixed. Then add your essential oils. If you have much darker hair add more cocoa powder until desired effect. Enjoy the journey of reducing toxic load one product at a time and one day at a time. Cheers, Holly |
