So we have made some huge transitions in the last few months and I have not posted here in like 3 months... Kinda crazy how fast time goes and how much has happened this spring into summer. I made the flight to Denver from Anchorage today after a phenomenal long weekend in Anchorage, catching up with friends and being apart of the wellness summit. We had some phenomenal speakers, such as Dr. Dan Leverenze, and his wife Katie. I will share more on that in another post, but I did want to say that huge shifts are being made in healthcare, and I really believe that a beautiful blend of Western Medicine and incorporaing things like Chinese medicine, Chiropractic care, essential oils, Acupuncture, and ect. is coming down the pipe.
Anyways, lets chat about Spearmint, this oil has quickly become one of my favorites, especially for spring and summer. Do you love summer, but hate the heat that comes with it? Today I left 55 degrees in Alaska and entered into 90 degrees in Denver, and I was not prepared... I slept for a couple hours and woke up with a nasty headache due to dehydration, the altitude and lack of sleep. I enjoyed some lemon water with 2 drops of Spearmint on my friend's lovely patio at her lovely new home. It was an instant shift. My head tension eased, and I felt a cooling "pick-me-up"....
Try cooling off with doTERRA Spearmint! Its sweet, refreshing aroma is cleansing and uplifting, making it ideal to evoke a sense of focus and positive mood. Spearmint is very different from Peppermint, and is a milder option to use on children and those with sensitive skin. Spearmint can also be great for use in the kitchen. Try it in a salad as part of a homemade dressing, a spearmint julep, or any of your favorite desserts. Spearmint also makes for a great addition to any meat marinade recipe.

Here is one of my favorite cleansing and uplifting diffuser recipes:
~2 drops of Spearmint.
~2 drops of Balance.
~2 drops of Eucalyptus.
This blend is perfect to cleanse the air, uplift mood and support the respiratory system, if one is needing a little boost. When you diffuse oils, you are getting the benefits the quickest way possible. By diffusing oils you are not only purifying the air, but also supporting your mood, immune system, and respiratory system to name a few. The essential oil molecules are so dynamic and small that they will continue to work in the air for up to 6 hours after.
Consider making your own mouth wash, by taking a glass jar and filling it with distilled water. Add 4 drops of Spearmint or Peppermint and set on the bathroom sink. Swish and rinse before or after brushing your teeth, for fresh breath and a great wake- up in the am.
Lastly, consider making yourself a great "After Sun Spray"! Take a 4 oz. glass spray bottle.
~ 15-20 drops of Spearmint ( depending on your preference of concentration and who its for).
~ 15-20 drops of Lavender.
~ 1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera Juice.
~ 1 Tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil
~ Fill the Rest with distilled water and shake.
~ Label with your favorite label and spray on for cooling benefits and or after you have been out in the sun to soothe and calm the skin. Its AMAZING!!!!
